Surface finishing

Metal finish coatings are the most common method of protecting metal parts from corrosion, since they create a barrier between the base metal and the environment so that the coating corrodes instead of the underlying metal. In Etal we provide you with the following types of coating options.

The chrome-plating process is generally used on steel plate; we offer plating thicknesses ranging from 1 to 20 microns, or more, depending on your requirements. Chrome-plating is one of the most highly resistant options regarding protection from corrosion and abrasion, in addition to having an excellent strength and luster. It is applied to automotive parts, tools, gas appliances, etcetera. We offer an immersion bath with a capacity of up to 90 liters, which should be sufficient to cover all your requirements.

This coating is used to protect metal surfaces and is mainly applied to steel, copper, and brass alloys, so as to take advantage of the low melting point (less than 400° C), thus greatly improving the weldability of the metal. It has a metallic-gray, matt finish. We offer a 90-liter immersion bath that should cover all your requirements.

We electrostatically apply black powder paint using a special gun. Basically, the powder is electrostatically charged and thus adheres to perfectly clean metallic surfaces, which also heats the part and provides it with a homogeneous, even coating, protecting the part from the environment in a matt finish.

In addition, to verify the quality of the coatings, we are able to carry out a variety of tests and measurements to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard, or if preferred, to your in-house standards procedures.

Silver plating is characterized by its bright white color, to which we offer a variety of finishes: matt, semi-glossy, and glossy. Its industrial applications provide high electrical conductivity, since this is an inherent property of this metal. Silver coating can be applied to copper, brass, aluminum, and/or steel, whilst the thickness of the finish can range from 1 to 10 microns or, if you prefer, even thicker. We offer you a silver-plating process with up to four immersion baths, each with capacities of either 90, or 218 liters.

The zinc-plating process consists of an electro-deposit of zinc on materials -generally steel- until reaching a thicknesses ranging from 1 to 15 microns. Its main use is to protect surfaces from corrosion. We offer this service with a metallic-gray, matt finish. Our zinc-plating services are capable of submerging pieces of up to 40 cm in length.
